According to the latest report of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the sea level is rising by 3.7 to 3.8 millimeters per year. Now this has increased to 4.00 millimeters per year. This increase is being seen within a radius of 50 kilometers from the coast. Global warming is happening due to human activities, due to which the coastal area is increasing so rapidly. In fact, burning fossil fuels releases greenhouse gases. These gases are melting ice sheets and glaciers unexpectedly. Due to which the sea level is rising. This is a big threat to the people living in these coastal areas and small islands. The southern part of India is also being affected by this.
