A suicide bomber targeted a military convoy in the North Waziristan district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday. Thirteen soldiers were killed, while 10 soldiers and 19 civilians were injured. According to news agency AFP, the attacker rammed a vehicle packed with explosives into the military convoy.

A police officer posted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told AFP that the explosion was so powerful that the roofs of two houses collapsed, injuring six children.

The Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, which is affiliated with the Pakistan-Taliban (TTP), has claimed responsibility for the bombing. Khyber province is considered a TTP stronghold. Terrorist attacks have increased in Pakistan in the recent past. Terrorist attacks have increased rapidly especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. In such a situation, another major attack is to increase the concerns of Pakistan. According to a Geo News report, in March this year, the Pakistani army claimed that they had killed 10 suspected terrorists associated with the TTP. There was a suicide attack on a Frontier Corps camp near the Jandola checkpost in South Waziristan. After this, the Pakistani army retaliated and killed the terrorists.
