After the horrific accident of Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad, news of flight malfunctions is being received every day. Today, a total of seven Air India flights could not take off due to technical and other reasons. Air India’s flights from Delhi to Paris, London to Amritsar, San Francisco to Mumbai and Ahmedabad to London have been canceled. Flights from San Francisco to Kolkata, Bengaluru to London were also canceled. Most of the flights had technical malfunctions. Six of the canceled flights were Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. This model was the one that crashed in Ahmedabad. Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner AI-159 departed Ahmedabad at 1.10 pm. It was scheduled to arrive in London at 6.25 pm. However, the flight was cancelled before take-off due to a technical fault. Apart from this, flight AI 2493 from Mumbai to Ahmedabad also had to be cancelled due to a technical fault. Moreover, passengers had to be deplaned during a stopover at Kolkata airport on Tuesday (June 17) after an engine of an Air India flight from San Francisco developed a technical fault. Flight AI 180 reached the airport on time at 00:45, but the flight was delayed due to a technical fault in the left engine.
