Shubman Gill on Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli: The second Test match between India and West Indies will be played in New Delhi from October 10. During this match, Team India’s aim will not only be to defeat West Indies 2-0, but all eyes will also be on the two big players – Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who are joining the team for the Australia tour.
Both these veteran cricketers are returning to international cricket after a long gap of 7 months after the Champions Trophy. Fans are excited about their return, although their ODI future is currently uncertain. Amidst this situation, the new ODI captain of the Indian team, Shubman Gill, has made an important statement about Rohit-Virat.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been named in the ODI series against Australia, although Rohit has been stripped of the ODI captaincy. His ODI future is unclear and this series could be his last.
Meanwhile, young star Shubman Gill heaped praise on Rohit-Virat ahead of the second Test against West Indies. Gill believes that both these players can play a big role in India’s success in the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Gill said, ‘The experience and skills that both of them have are not easily found. There are very few players who have won so many matches for India. There are also very few players in the world who have this much ability, quality and experience.’
Shubman Gill also said, ‘I want to bring the calm nature and friendly atmosphere in the team that I learned from former captain Rohit Sharma to my captaincy. Gill said that it is a great honour for me to captain India. The calm nature of Rohit bhai and the unity and friendship that he created in the team, I want to adopt it in my captaincy.’
