In light of the continuing legal battle surrounding the film, Rebel Wilson is addressing the controversy surrounding social media posts regarding The Deb. The Deb’s Instagram account featured articles with negative messages in response to a footage of actress Charlotte MacInnes performing at Cannes on Friday from the yacht that belonged to the movie’s financier, Len Blavatnik. According to reports, Wilson is in charge of the account for the film, which has no set release date because of the legal dispute surrounding it.
One caption stated, “Charlotte MacInnes sings a song from a movie that will never be released because of her lies and support for the people preventing the film’s release while wearing a culturally inappropriate Indian attire on Len Blavatnik’s expensive yacht in Cannes.” “So glad you got your record contract Charlotte at the expense of the 300 people who worked on The Deb and actually want to see it released,” read a follow-up post.
