Prithvi Shaw apologizes to Mushir Khan after fight on cricket field : hugs him and calls him younger brother

A three-day practice match was played between Maharashtra and Mumbai before the start of Ranji Trophy 2025-26. Maharashtra opener Prithvi Shaw had a fight with his old Mumbai team player Mushir Khan on the field.

However, now this controversy has come to an end. According to a TOI report, Prithvi Shaw met Mushir and apologized. Then, on the third day, Maharashtra’s innings was going on, Prithvi Shaw himself went to Mushir after the wicket fell. Prithvi hugged Mushir and said, “You are like my younger brother.”

This controversy took place when Prithvi Shaw was dismissed by Mushir Khan after playing a brilliant innings of 181 runs. Irfan Umair caught him out. After the wicket fell during Maharashtra’s innings, Prithvi Shaw personally went to Mushir. Prithvi Shaw hugged Mushir and said that he was like a younger brother.

After taking the wicket, Mushir thanked him, which angered Prithvi Shaw. In the video footage, Shaw was seen raising his bat and moving towards Mushir. The umpire then intervened to calm the situation. According to the report, Prithvi Shaw was upset with the continuous sledging by the Mumbai players. So, in anger, he raised his bat and tried to grab Mushir by the collar. Prithvi Shaw is playing for Maharashtra this season. He made a big partnership of 305 runs with Arshin Kulkarni in that match.

It is worth mentioning that currently, Prithvi Shaw is seen in the news more for his undisciplined behavior than for his game. However, by apologizing to Mushir, he has given a positive message that he wants to focus on cricket again.
