Pankaj Dheer, who played the role of Karna in ‘Mahabharat’ : passed away at the age of 68, was under cancer treatment for a long time

Veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, who played the role of Karna in B. R. Chopra’s famous TV serial Mahabharat, has passed away at the age of 68. His close friend Amit Bahl has also confirmed his death. He became popular across the country after the Mahabharat serial aired on Doordarshan in the year 1998.

According to information received from sources, Pankaj Dheer was under cancer treatment for a long time. However, once he defeated cancer, but later he fell victim to cancer once again. His condition was very critical in the last few days. Due to this disease, he also had to undergo a major surgery. Many people are expressing grief after seeing the news of Pankaj Dheer’s death on social media. Apart from this, celebrities are also paying tribute to Pankaj with teary eyes.

CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) has also expressed grief over the demise of Pankaj Dhir. They said in a statement that Pankaj Dhir passed away on October 15. His last rites will be performed at 4:30 pm on October 15 at the Vile Parle crematorium in Mumbai. Pankaj Dhir has also served as the former General Secretary of CINTAA.

Pankaj Dhir worked on many projects in the TV and film industry. However, he gained fame from B. R. Chopra’s Mahabharata serial released in 1988. He played the role of Karna in this show. His work is still praised today. It is worth noting that apart from TV shows, he also worked in many films. He has been a part of many mythological shows, including shows like Chandrakanta, The Great Maratha. Apart from this, he also did a great job in Hindi films Soldier, Badshah and Sadak.

Talking about Pankaj Dhir’s personal life, his family consists of wife Anita Dhir and son Nikitan Dhir. Fans know Nikitan from the role of Thangabali in the film Chennai Express. Like his father, Nikitan is also seen in mythological shows. He played the role of Ravana in Shrimad Ramayana.
