The investigation into the death of famous singer Zubeen Garg is still ongoing. CID has summoned 8 NRIs living in Singapore, of which only one person appeared before the CID. NRI Roopkamal Kalita reached Guwahati and appeared before the CID. CID questioned Roopkamal in the matter of the singer’s death, but the mystery of Zubeen’s death remains intact as the summons sent against seven other people did not receive a response. Let us tell you that NRI Roopkamal Kalita is originally from Assam.
The police officers investigating this case have asked eight NRIs living in Singapore to report to them by October 6 through the Indian High Commission. All the eight NRIs were summoned. Out of them, only one NRI has responded. The other seven NRIs have not responded to this, raising suspicions about Zubin’s death.
It is noteworthy that 52-year-old singer Zubin Garg died while scuba diving in Singapore last month. During this, Zubin had gone to Singapore to attend the three-day North East India Festival organized in Singapore. The event was canceled after his death.
During the investigation into the incident, Zubin Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma and the main organizer of the North East India Festival Shyamkanu Mahant have been arrested on charges of culpable homicide, criminal conspiracy and negligent death.
Notably, a new twist came in the case when Garg’s bandmate, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, alleged that his manager and the festival organizer may have poisoned him and conspired to cover up his death by calling it an accident. CID is investigating this case.
