Netanyahu orders immediate, powerful attack on Gaza

  • Israeli army will start clearing Gaza anytime
  • Hamas’s response to Netanyahu: We will not return the bodies of dead Israeli hostages

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has ordered the army to launch a powerful attack on Gaza with immediate effect. Netanyahu gave this order after Israel said that Hamas had fired on Israeli military forces in southern Gaza. Tensions were already at their peak after Hamas returned the bodies of dead Israeli hostages.

Netanyahu’s order may again make the peace established in Gaza under the leadership of Trump short-lived. Israel may launch increasingly fierce attacks in Gaza in the coming days.

Following Netanyahu’s order, Hamas said it would not return the bodies of the remaining Israeli hostages. This could lead to renewed tensions in the Middle East.

Israel claimed to have killed three Palestinian terrorists in the northern West Bank. Israeli police said the three terrorists were from Jenin town, a stronghold of terrorism in the West Bank. They claimed the terrorists were planning an attack, but did not give details.

The Israeli military then carried out an airstrike that destroyed the entire cave. The military confirmed the airstrike in the area. Israel says its operation is aimed at eliminating terrorists in the West Bank.

Hamas strongly criticized the Israeli attack on Jenin. He said that two of the three killed were militants from his Qassam Brigade, while the third was its leader, but gave no other details.
