‘Chandni Bar 2’ is embroiled in a controversy. Madhur Bhandarkar has objected to the use of the title ‘Chandni Bar Returns’ by producer Sandeep Singh and director Ajay Bahl.
He has filed a complaint with the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association on this issue. IMPA has banned the use of the title ‘Chandni Bar Returns’ until the dispute is resolved. However, Sandeep Singh’s Legend Studios has claimed that they own all the rights to take ‘Chandni Bar’ forward.
The nominees of the original producers of this film are the late R Mohan’s wife is Latta Mohan Iyer and he has acquired these rights from her. He has acquired these rights by complying with the laws related to trademarks.
It is worth mentioning that the names of Sharvari Wagh, Trupti Dimri and Ananya Pandey are being considered for the lead roles in ‘Chandni Baar Returns’. However, after this legal dispute, there is uncertainty whether the film will go ahead or not.
