Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) veteran batsman Virat Kohli says his heart and soul have always been with Bengaluru. RCB won their first IPL title by defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in the final match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Kohli has been a part of the RCB franchise since the inception of the IPL and finally lifted the IPL trophy in the 18th season. “Emotionally, the Red Army is behind me,” Kohli told the broadcaster after RCB’s win. “This moment is unbelievable. This win is as important for the fans as it is for the team. It’s been 18 years. I have given this team my early career, my best career and now my experience. Every season I have given my best to help the team win. Finally, that moment has come, it’s an unbelievable experience.” I got satisfaction by becoming a champion with RCB. I have won almost every other trophy, World Cup, T20, ODI, Champions Trophy. But IPL? This is absolutely supreme. I have given my best for 18 years. I have been loyal to the team, no matter what. There were times when I thought otherwise, but I stood with them and they stood with me. I always dreamed of winning trophies with them (RCB).
