The escalation of the Israeli-Iranian war has taken a more violent turn in the world’s unrest. Eight people were killed and more than 300 injured when Iranian missiles hit five locations in Israel in the early hours of June 16. The missile attacks carried out by Iran also included the safe port of Haifa in central Israel.

Four people were killed in the Iranian missile attacks in Petah Tikva, three in Haifa and one in Bnei Brak. According to the Jerusalem Times, the missile strike near the US embassy in Tel Aviv caused some damage to the embassy but no casualties. Authorities inspected the damaged building after the Iranian missile attack in Petah Tikva, east of Tel Aviv, in the early hours of June 16. The debris from the attack site has begun to be removed.

According to the Israeli Health Ministry, 287 people have been hospitalized across the country due to the Iranian attack, one of whom is in critical condition. Several buildings in Tel Aviv have been significantly damaged due to the recent Iranian attack. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee shared the information on his X social media, saying that the embassy branch in the coastal city suffered minor damage but no staff were injured.

American embassies and consulates are closed. Shelter-in-place orders are still in effect. The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) warned people to stay away from bomb shelters after midnight on Monday. Notifications were sent through a cellphone application that provides early warning of possible attacks. This is usually followed by a siren sounding within minutes, followed by a second warning.
