India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a missile that is more formidable than Chinese and Pakistani missiles. The name of this missile is ‘Gandiv’, which is a new and advanced version of the Astra Mk-3 missile. ‘Gandiv’ has the capability to shoot down enemy fighter planes up to a distance of 350 km. After DRDO developed this indigenous missile, it is said that the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ has achieved great success. Recently, the first successful test of ‘Gandiv’ has been conducted in Balasore, Odisha. According to sources, after the first successful test of ‘Gandiv’, now preparations have been started to test it on a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet, that is, ‘Gandiv’ will be tested by taking it up to Sukhoi. Currently, its captive carriage trials are going on. Captive carriage trials mean that the test will be carried out after it is installed on an aircraft or fighter plane without being launched. After placing this missile on a fighter plane, all its electronic checks will be done. This missile has been made using a special technique, in which a ramjet engine has been used.
