Today is the second day of PM Modi’s visit to Cyprus. Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides conferred Cyprus’ highest honour, the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III, on Modi.
Modi said, “Mr. President, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you, the government of Cyprus and the people of Cyprus for this honour. This is not only an honour for Narendra Modi but also for 140 crore Indians; it is an honour for their capabilities and aspirations. It is an honour for our culture, brotherhood and the ideology of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.”
Earlier, Modi was welcomed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. After this, a meeting was held between the Presidents of the two countries. Now Modi will leave for Canada to attend the G7 Summit.
Modi reached Cyprus on Sunday. He was welcomed with a red carpet at the airport. After that, he went to Limassol. He met the Indian community outside the hotel. He loved the children. He also raised slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
A meeting was held between Modi and the President of Cyprus to promote trade between the two countries. Modi said- There are many Indian companies in Cyprus. It is seen as the gateway to Europe. It is our reliable partner.
