The new season of Ranji Trophy started with controversy between Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar. In this match, a big mistake was made by the BCCI on Wednesday, October 15.
There was a mistake in the scorecard in the name of two Mumbai batters, brothers Sarfaraz Khan and Mushir Khan. In fact, initially Sarfaraz Khan was shown playing the innings for Mumbai on the BCCI website.
The scorecard stated that Sarfaraz was dismissed without opening his account by Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Aaqib Nabi. But, later it was found out that it was not Sarfaraz, but his younger brother Mushir Khan, who actually came out to open and was dismissed on the third ball.
After the mistake came to light on social media, the BCCI immediately corrected the scorecard and added Mushir’s name in place of Sarfaraz. However, this mistake surprised cricket fans. Many people raised questions. Fans asked why Sarfaraz was sent in early to open, as he is trying to make a comeback in the middle order in the Indian Test team.
