‘Before dying, my mother asked for water, but I couldn’t give it to her’, actor Arshad Warsi’s pain spilled

Parents play a very important role in anyone’s life, but actor Arshad Warsi didn’t get their support for long. When he was just 14 years old, his parents passed away. During a recent interview, the actor talked about losing both of them and how he tried to appear strong in front of the whole world.

‘Jolly LLB 3’ actor Arshad Warsi appeared on Raj Shamani’s podcast. During this, he talked about his career, his ex-wife and the struggles he faced before achieving success in Bollywood. He admitted that he doesn’t have many memories with his family, as he spent most of his childhood in boarding school. He said, ‘Since I started going to boarding school at the age of 8, when it comes to my childhood, I remember my school more than my family.’

Talking about his mother, Arshad Warsi said, ‘Her last memory is a terrible one, which still haunts me. I still remember that after my father’s death, my mother had kidney failure and was on dialysis.’

The actor further said, ‘My mother was a simple housewife who used to cook very good food. She was on dialysis due to kidney failure. The doctors had forbidden us to give her water, but she kept asking for water. I kept refusing her. The night before she passed away, she called me and asked for water again. She passed away that same night and this broke me inside.’

Arshad Warsi further said, ‘A part of me keeps telling me that if I had given her water and she had passed away, I would have thought for the rest of my life that she died because I gave her water. Although I am grateful that I did not have to bear this guilt for the rest of my life. But now thinking more, I feel that I should have given my mother water then. At that time, I was a child and I wanted to listen to the doctor. Today I can make that decision and choose to be with my family instead of spending my last day in the hospital. We never think about the sick person, but make decisions based on our guilt.’
