Australia team announced for India match: Starc’s return, 5 players dropped

Australia has announced its team for the ODI and T20 series against India. Together, both teams have shown the way out to a total of five players. Mitchell Marsh will captain Australia in both series. Three ODIs and five T20I matches will be played in the series between India and Australia. Australia has currently selected the team for the first two matches of the ODI series and the T20I series.

The special thing about Australia’s ODI team is that Mitchell Starc has returned after 11 months. This will be the first white-ball series in which Starc will be seen playing after retiring from T20 International cricket. Apart from Starc, Matt Renshaw has also managed to get a place in the ODI team. Renshaw is yet to make his ODI debut.

Australia have announced a 15-man squad for the ODI series. On the other hand, a 14-member squad has been selected for the first two matches of the T20I series. Compared to the last white-ball series Australia played against South Africa, five players have been cut from the team selected against India.

Australia has dropped three players from the ODI team, in which the names of Aaron Hardy, Matthew Kunhemann and Marnus Labuschagne are. On the other hand, 4 players have joined the ODI team in place of these three players, in which the names of Starc, Mitchell Owen, Matt Renshaw and Matthew Short are.

The T20 series against India is very important to assess the preparations for the T20 World Cup to be held next year. This is the reason why Australia has now selected a team for the first two T20Is, in which two players have been dropped. Alex Carey and Josh Phillips have not found a place in the team, while Nathan Ellis and Josh Inglis have been included.
