US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday (June 11) that a trade deal with China has been finalized. Under this deal, China will provide rare earth minerals and magnets to the US. In return, the US will allow Chinese students to study in its universities and colleges. After taking such a decision, tensions between China and the US will decrease. Trump called this decision his political victory and said, ‘This deal is still subject to final approval by me and Chinese President Xi Jinping.’ Trump wrote on the Truth social media platform, “Our deal with China has been finalized. China will provide us with all the magnets and all the rare earth minerals we need. In return, we will do what we promised, including allowing Chinese students to study at our colleges and universities (which has always been good for me!). We are getting 55% tariffs, while China gets 10%. Our relationship is excellent! Thank you for your attention to this matter.” In May this year, trade relations between the two countries soured due to rare earth minerals. In which the tariff war between the two countries increased. But this agreement is likely to remove the resentment between the two countries. On Tuesday, US and Chinese officials said that the two countries have prepared a trade framework, through which the trade agreement will be done again in the right direction. This also includes the lifting of export restrictions imposed by China on rare earth minerals.
