A cheque of 25 lakhs given by the PM of Pakistan was bounced : a big revelation by spinner

The Pakistan cricket team won the 2009 T20 World Cup title by defeating the Sri Lankan team. At that time, spinner Saeed Ajmal played an important role in the team’s victory. Now Saeed Ajmal has said that at that time, the Pakistani team that won the T20 World Cup trophy was given a cheque of Rs 25 lakh each by the then Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. But the players did not get a single penny because when the players went to cash the cheque, it bounced. Due to this, the players were left empty-handed even after winning the title. Saeed Ajmal said that when we came back after winning the T20 World Cup title, we did not get much reward. Because there was a tour of Sri Lanka immediately after that. But the then Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani gave us a cheque of Rs 25 lakh each. We were very happy. But our cheque bounced. Then he said that the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board will give you this cheque. But the PCB Chairman also refused. However, we lost badly on the Sri Lanka tour and we did not get anything. We only got money from the ICC. If you have to cheat on such a big scale, then this is very unfair.

Recently, after winning the Asia Cup 2025 title, when the Indian players refused to take the Asia Cup trophy from PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi, he angrily walked away with the trophy and the medals of the Indian players. This was not at all appropriate for a person sitting in a big position. If the Indian players do not want to take the trophy from his hands, then this trophy couldhave been given by someone else, but Naqvi remained adamant on his insistence. After winning the Asia Cup 2025 title, the BCCI has announced to give 21 crore rupees to the Indian players.
