At a time when the drug trade in the city is increasing at an alarming rate, the State Monitoring Cell team has arrested three peddlers who were roaming around with a quantity of MD drugs from Vejalpur Juhapura Crossroads, Unique Apartment. These three peddlers had brought MD drugs from two suppliers and were going to sell them targeting the youth. The police have seized a total of 10 lakhs worth of drugs, including 7.50 lakhs. The investigation is also likely to reveal the details of major drug suppliers of Ahmedabad.
Drug peddlers have become active in Vejalpur and Juhapura for the past few days, when the team of K.T. Kamaria of the State Monitoring Cell received information that three peddlers were moving around with a quantity of MD drugs in a rickshaw. They are targeting youths from rich families. Immediately, his team raided Vejalpur and caught three peddlers with MD drugs. 75.080 grams of MD drugs worth a total of Rs 7.5 lakh were found in different packings from them, the name of the person who sent the drugs has also been revealed, and investigation is underway in that direction.
